Sadly that isn't going to happen, but when I was asked to try iStylista I jumped at the chance.
So what is iStylista?
iStylista.com was launched in May 2009 as the online personal stylist, using the expertise of its founder Chantelle Znideric, professional stylist to the rich and famous. Clients are invited to register by completing their very own ‘Style File’ and then to browse and purchase only the most suitable designer clothing handpicked by the iStylista.com personal stylists. Members have unlimited access to their private online changing room which presents them with items matching their specifications. Customers are a click away from their personal stylist and a whole new designer wardrobe
I have to admit I was worried by the phrase "designer" as to me my first reaction is expensive, but I was pleasantly surprised by the results.
Firstly, I had to download the Style Goddess Style Guide and complete the forms.
For the first questions it asked what shape I am. It does give good descriptions of the shapes, but I would have preferred to enter my measurements and it tell me. I have always thought I am an apple shape, but now I think I am a rectangle. (I prefer that too)
The next step was to decide what size I am. Now depending on which shop I am in that changes too. Again I feel measurements would have been more beneficial, but I chose a 12 on top and a 14 bottom. It also asked for shoe sizes too. We then moved on to face shape, skin tone, colours, height, lifestyle and problem areas.
The form didn't take long to fill in and I proceeded to download the advice guide.
This is where my initial concerns vanished. My 30 page style guide was in front of me. It is full to the brim of wonderful advice you would normally see Gok Wan dishing out, but it's all in front of you to read at your leisure and come back to as and when you need it. The first thing I need to do is buy some good supportive undies - my worn out Nursing Bra's are on their last legs! The recommended colours are full of the ones I actually wear, so it is nice to know I was getting something right too!
Now for the fun bit...........they suggest items for your wardrobe. There are a number of categories - you can sort by tops / trousers / dresses / knitwear/ swimwear etc, or occasions. You can even add your own personal style be it urban or feminine etc.
Admittedly there are designer options, with the designer price tag, but I was pleasantly surprised to find affordable items from the likes of Dorothy Perkins and Oasis. You can click and buy through the iStylista website too, so there is not trawling through individual web pages trying to find the dress you have just seen. I have my heart set on a denim dress from Oasis and am off to try some recommended jeans too!
If you are still struggling for ideas, you can enlist the help of a personal shopper. Every personal stylist featured has undergone professional training, has traded for at least 6 months and has credible testimonials. What’s more, when you find a personal stylist that you want to work with, they will give you a NO OBLIGATION, 15 minute Skype or telephone consultation.
I have 10 Personalised Style Goddess Style guides to give away but if you can't wait to try it you can buy one. They are priced at £30 but I have 40% discount on Style Goddess style guides to offer to my readers - just use this code: R4E6-3YD4-VR.
