Exploring Hengistbury Head - Country Kids

We have had some truly shocking weather recently and it has meant that we haven't gone too far from the house.

This time last week however, it was a gloriously sunny day (if a little nippy), so I took the youngest three out and about to blow away some cobwebs.

I was heading to our favourite spot on Boscombe beach when I decided to go somewhere different - it is always fun exploring somewhere new - so we headed off to Hengistbury Head, a scenic headland between Bournemouth and Christchurch.

Off to explore Hengistbury Head

Hengistbury head is great to explore, and even better for tiring out little legs!!  For the older ones there can do some fossil hunting along the cliffside and see which unusual plants and animals they can find and the little ones can watch the kite surfers leaping into the air and doing lots of tricks.

I have fond memories of visiting Hengistbury Head as a child with my Great Aunt and we used to get the "Noddy Train" to the top.  I didn't realise it was still running, but it is still there so next we come I will make sure we have a go!

The little ones were adamant they wanted to go to the seaside, until we heard something in the distance.

We found some Shettland cattle grazing in the distance.

After watching the cattle for what felt like forever, we marched on (some of us literally)......
