Save money on your trip to the Hairdresser!

Whilst we were discussing our Mummy Budget feature, it was unanimous that the first thing that most mums let go of is a trip to the hairdressers to get our manes trimmed, coloured, coiffed and curled.

There are some fab colouring products for hair on the market, and it can be quite fun having a girly night in with a bottle of wine whilst you colour each others hair, but nothing beats having a couple of hours away from the chaos and madness of family life.

I had been having my hair cut a home using a mobile hairdresser for a couple of years until recently.  This created problems in itself.  It isn’t fun trying to clear hair from a floor that isn’t designed to cope with it, especially with a toddler who finds it fascinating to run through it!  The hairdresser spilt hair dye on my floor (that doesn’t come out) and hanging your head over a bath to wash it is nigh on impossible (or comfortable).

In September last year I was lucky enough to win a cut and blow dry on the Annabel Karmel website with JAS Hair in Christchurch, Dorset.  I had forgotten how relaxing a trip to the hairdressers was and was immediately made to feel welcome.  I was quickly offered a drink and chose coffee.  What came out was not a cheap instant coffee, but a filter coffee in a proper jug for me to pour myself to my taste – and a cake (Yes you did read that correctly – a cake!!!!)

Emma, my stylist, discussed my hair options with me at length and we agreed on what she would do.  Suffice to say, my hair looked gorgeous and she did exactly as I wanted.  I have been back to them three times now as I really enjoy the experience and their prices are very reasonable.

When the lovely Neil from JAS Hair Salons heard our Mummy Budget plight, he very generously offered us a deal:

For regular clients to the salon (at least 4 visits a year) –  25% off ALL hairdressing appointments (Products not included).  JAS Hair salons are based in Christchurch (Dorset), Wilton and Salisbury (Wiltshire).

If you would like to take part in this offer please can you email me with your name and postal address to chelseamamma@gmail.com and I will get the vouchers out to you in the post.

You can like also Like JAS Hair Salons on facebook and follow them on twitter @jashairsalons for more information.

I realise this offer is only valid for a small selection of my readers due to location, but perhaps you can ask your local salon if they can help in any way and then share with your local fans!

  4. I feel bad that you didn’t like your Mobile Hairdresser!
The same service should be kept throughout your salon and mobile experience, so no excuses there, even if it is a bit cheaper!
So glad you have now found a lovely hairdresser’s whose customer service sounds wonderful 🙂
