It isn’t my birthday for a fair few months, but I have been tagged by the lovely @mummyglitzer to take part in a linky set up by The Five F’s, where we all discover facts about the day we were born.
When is your birthday?
21st June
Pick three people who share your birthday and what you know about them?
Prince William – what’s not to know………. Future King, married to Kate, got a dog called Lupo
Brandon Flowers – lead singer of The Killers (love that band)
Anne Kirkbride – Deidre in Coronation Street and used to wear “those” glasses
Is anyone listed as being born on the same day (ie same year)? If so, what do you know about them?
A few International sports people, but none I recognise. The only Brit is a Radio presenter called Natasha Desborough and I have never heard of her either!
List three people who died on your birthday and what you know about them
Louis III – Cardinal of Guise in 1621. The only one I have heard of and that’s only because he is Royal.
List three notable events that took place on your birthday
It’s the Summer Solstice, so every year the druids descend on Stonehenge. It’s the longest day of the year, so more time to celebrate!!!
Princess Diana gave birth in 1982 to Prince William Arthur Philip Louis
US troops take Okinawa in 1945
Tell us about a holiday that falls on your birthday
It’s World Humanist Day apparently! According to the International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU), the day is a way of spreading awareness of Humanism as a philosophical life stance and means to effect change in the world. It is also seen as a time for Humanists to gather socially and promote the positive values of Humanism………..yep told you!!!!
OK, so now it’s my turn to tag some of you lovelies:
@innocentcharmer
Lucky you, having a birthday on the longest day. Mine is not long past the shortest day and I’m envious of people with summer birthdays.
It is better for kids parties, we don’t really celebrate ours anymore
