2012 has been another storming year for the country’s favourite pig live on stage. Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt travelled the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland, packing and selling out theatres wherever it went. This hugely popular production is now coming to the Criterion Theatre this December/January, giving Peppa Pig her third Christmas season at the West End venue. The Peppa Pig stage-show has an incredibly successful track record and for the past two Christmas seasons Peppa Pig has played to packed houses at the Criterion Theatre in 2010 and 2011, breaking all the theatre’s previous advance box office records. Her first stage tour, Peppa Pig’s Party, was also one of the top-selling children’s theatre shows in 2010 and 2011.
This second touring production – Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt – proves that the appetite for Peppa on stage is showing no signs of abating and the show is currently touring the UK and Ireland until July 2012 (started October 2011). Including this coming Christmas season, there will have been a Peppa Pig theatre production on the road, with occasional breaks, from September 2009 to January 2013.
In Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt Peppa Pig and her friends set off on a new adventure, a treasure hunt. Peppa, her brother George and friend Danny Dog get up to fun and games on a day out on Granddad Dog’s boat. There are clues aplenty as Pedro Pony, Polly Parrot and Zoe Zebra help them find their treasure as they all enjoy a day of adventure. Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt features true-to-life puppets, perfect sing-along songs and a story that will charm and delight all her fans.
