The Olympic Meme

Sian from You’re not from round here has passed on the Olympic torch to me. Well not so much an Olympic torch more a meme about the Olympics, but I am sure you understand!

Olympic Torch

1) If every day tasks were Olympic events what would you get a gold medal in?
The art of the quick supermarket shop!  I write my shopping list in order of the way I navigate whichever supermarket I visit and dash round as fast as I can.  You cannot leisurely browse with a toddler and a four year old!!

2) As a child (or now even) did you excel at a particular sport and if so which one?
I am sad to say that I never really excelled at any sport, even though I loved taking part.  Swimming was my strongest sport.

3) Michael Phelps (swimmer) or Michael Johnson (runner) – which sport appeals to you more?
Swimming!  I still love to swim now and as I have arthritis in my poor feet I can exercise without any pain!

4) How fast can you get out of bed and ready to go out the door if miss the alarm and sleep in?
If it is just me then 10 minutes – add the kids then it is at least half an hour!!

5) What fantasy sport would you like to see made into an Olympic event?
Nerf Wars – that would be amazingly fun!

6) Claim to fame time – Have you ever met an Olympian and who was it?
No, I haven’t.  Kian met the British Volleyball team last month though.

7) What event in past Olympics can you remember most vividly?
Torville & Dean winning the Winter Olympics with Bolero – still love it to this day!

8) Tuning in at home, not for me or tickets clamped ready in sweaty palms?
We couldn’t afford tickets sadly, although hubby did apply for some.  I shall be watching at home and am most looking forward to the diving!  I might venture to Weymouth as it isn’t far though to watch the sailing.

9) Who do you think most deserves a gold medal (any walk of life not just Olympians).
I am genuinely disappointed that David Beckham didn’t get selected for the football.  He may have his faults, but he has done so much for this country and sport it would have been the icing on the cake!

I am going to pass on the flame to these lovely bloggers (careful that it doesn’t burn you!):
