Dallas

To whet my appetite, the wonderful guys at Warner Bro’s sent me the original Series 1 and 2 of Dallas to watch.

I may be showing my age, but I have to admit that I watched the series at the time that it was originally aired.  I was fairly young at the time, so much of it I didn’t understand, so it was nice to refresh my memory with the ins and outs of the Ewing / Barnes feud.

The first episode begins with Bobby Ewing eloping with Pamela Barnes, thus intensifying the long standing feud between the families.  I have not finished watching the entire two series yet, but it is something I intend to do once the children are back at school!

The original of the soap opera’s, Dallas was filled with power, wealth, sex, extravagance and greed, plus some great 70’s and 80’s fashion!! Sadly You-Tube won’t let me embed the original title sequence, but I am happy that the new updated version for 2012, has kept that memorable theme tune and similar panoramic shots.

The new series of Dallas airs tonight at 9pm on Channel 5 is a continuation of the much loved series of the 70’s and 80’s and follows the lives J.R, Sue Ellen, and Bobby Ewing and introduces the new generation of Ewings, who take ambition and deception to the next level.
