My favourite Mothers Day Gift

For those of you who have forgotten – it is Mother’s Day on Sunday, which should mean an extra hours sleep in bed, whilst hubby scurries downstairs with the little people and makes you the best breakfast you have ever had and then even cleans up after them.  You may even get taken out on a special lunch and get to put your feet up all day.

In reality, it is no different to any other day.  There is still washing to do, school uniform to get ready for the next day and the kids still argue and bicker.

There is of course the gifts though.  I am a sucker for a homemade card – preferably one they have slaved over for at least half an hour and a thoughtful gift.  Much as flowers are beautiful, I much prefer something more practical and my favourite gift from my brood is my “Yummy Mummy” apron.  In my opinion the importance of an apron increases dramatically when you have kids, especially when baking with this monkey!

Aprons are now cool again too – I mean if the Duchess of Cambridge can get away with wearing one and still look flawless, then there is hope for us mere mortals yet!

Although I am not sure her brother-in-law completely carries off the look in this photograph – maybe it’s the addition of Paddington Bear??

Gino D’Acampo definitely carries the look off to it best effect though *ahem*

This Morning

It’s not just baking I use mine for either, it is also an important addition to craft time and messy play as I don’t want to get covered in paint, glitter and glue!

It’s got me thinking, what would your ideal “practical” Mothers Day Gift be?
