Climbing Monkey

I have a climbing monkey at home!

I am currently working towards my NVQ3 in Childcare and having completed my progression charts I know this is a completely natural phase in growing up, but I keep finding her……….

On the window sill

In the middle of the dining room table

In toy boxes

On the TV Cabinet

On top of the sofa

Halfway up the stairs (if someone leaves the stair gate open for even a second!)

Even her big sister isn’t safe!!!!

Big sister’s make for good climbing frames too!
The trouble is, she just ignores you if you say “No” and waits for you to turn your back and then she is up there again.  She has even broken the coffee table and I am loathe to replace it until she has stopped this phase!!

I am really not sure how to stop it.  We play outside a lot and have even taken over the local BMX park when the “big kids” are at school!

Even at soft play, she is determined that she will go where her big brothers can go, even if the steps are almost as high as she is!!

Can someone give me a leg up?
So how do you stop your little climbers, or do you just let them get on with it and hope they don’t fall off and hurt themselves?
