I love this weeks’s Gallery Choice – Walks and I have many a photograph that could be entered as we love to get some fresh air in our lungs and explore the local countryside. The problem is actually choosing one!
One of our favourite places to go for a walk is the beach, and this shot was taken walking along an abandoned Boscombe Pier in Dorset in early February.
Much as it was cold, there is nothing quite like being on a desolate beach, listening to the waves rolling in and breaking on the shoreline, interspersed with giggles from the little ones as they watch through the planks on the pier.
The beaches here are very different in the summer and you can barely move for tourists, so it all looks very different then!
The clouds look a bit doomy in that first photo but looks like it didn’t stop you from having a fun day out!
Brilliant photos. I love these old piers.
Great Photo’s,I love your LO’s coat.
Oh looks fab! I need to investigate Dorset a bit more – thank you.
I love the perspective in the first shot, it looks like you are heading into the storm cloud

I can almost hear the noise the boards make
I do so love the beach! What lovely photos, I can almost smell the sea air!
these are such fab pictures, the broodiness that seems to come out is fantastic.
Wow amazing photos – think I would have the top one in a frame!
Lovely photo’s, I used to live by the sea and i much preferred walking along the seafront in the winter when I had the place to myself, not that I’m unsociable or anything;-) haha!
The beach/seaside is one of my favourite places for a walk, especially when it is deserted like this. Lovely snaps!
The first photo is quite incredible. Such heaviness in the clouds but clarity in the figures. I really like it.
Lovely photos, I love the Boscombe Pier one, a perfect double up for Country Kids and The Gallery.
Love that first photo
I love it – looks like you had the whole place to yourselves too. Bet you all slept well that night!
Beautiful stills. Nothing like a refreshing walk!
