Birchbox – A review!

I have tried Beauty boxes before, most notably the Glossybox, but apart from the odd item didn’t find them to be suitable for my age / skin type.

When I was contacted by Birchbox and asked to review their April box, I was intrigued to find out more.

If, like me, you have never heard of Birchbox, it was founded by best friends Katia Beauchamp and Hayley Barna to help women discover beauty products. They launched in September 2010 with just 600 customers—now the brand has a community of over 300,000 worldwide!

Birchbox has now joined forces with Joliebox in the UK and is more than a monthly subscription. The brand takes a 360-degree approach: try, learn, and buy. Every Birchbox includes deluxe samples that have been tailored to your very own beauty profile, plus original content that helps you learn how to use them. Once you find products you love, you can pick up full-size versions in the Birchbox Shop and earn points with every purchase.

I was very excited when the postman delivered my Birchbox and I cannot fault the packaging!

It seemed such a shame to open it, but I did………

The contents all game in a small pink drawstring bag – very handy!

Inside the box I received:

  • Weleda Skin Food
  • La Societe ParisienneDe Savons Soap
  • Natio Gentle Foaming Cleanser
  • Gerda Spillman – Renaissance Age Serum
  • Mirenesse Perfect Kiss Lipstick Pencil
  • Paname Paris Mirror

The gentle foaming cleanser was in a great size bottle and was a much needed addition to my holiday skincare routine, and the mirror came in handy for quick make up touches, and entertaining Eliza when waiting in queues for rides!

Also included was a colourful booklet with instructions on how to use each product, which was a lovely addition to the box.  I cannot wait to try the rest now.

You can subscribe to Birchbox for £10 per month plus p&p or subscribe for the year for £100 plus p&p – meaning you get two free boxes – you can even give it as a gift!

I think I might just treat myself to the next one…….just to make sure of course!!

You can follow them on twitter as @BirchboxUK or like them on facebook for more information and offers.
