I found Fitta Mamma at The Baby Show back in February and was immediately drawn to their support vests promising to help with back pain during pregnancy.
I have suffered with back pain in all my pregnancies, and was starting to get niggles so I made the decision to invest in one. At £49.99 they are not cheap, but with a holiday to Disneyland Paris coming up, I knew that I needed something to help support my growing bump.
The Fitta Mamma High Support top is uniquely designed to provide maximum support for the pregnancy tummy and boobs (and is ideal for post-natal exercise too).
How does it work?
The unique back panel spreads the weight of your baby onto your back and shoulders (like a quality sports bra!) whilst strong elastane content hugs your bump to help you feel lighter and more comfortable. Built in bra support avoids the need for additional underwear (although wide straps accommodate a bra if you prefer), whilst the firm waistband is super-secure around your hips. CoolDry moisture management technology keeps you fresh and cool.
The top is suitable for higher impact pregnancy exercise or everyday comfort and support.
The big question is – Does it actually work?
My answer is, without a shadow of a doubt – YES!!!!!
The top itself is made from quite a thick material which fits snuggly to the bump and a very strong waistband lifts and supports the bump better than any support bands I have tried. I found the top an absolute blessing when walking around Disney, and although I was not free of back pain all together as I was on my feet for over 12 hours, it was definitely more manageable.
Whenever I have felt niggles throughout my pregnancy I have worn this High Support Top and the Maternity leggings which accompany it and combined with some gentle exercise within a day the back pain has gone.
If, like me, you are not comfortable showing off the tops of you arms or your body shape, simply team the set with a sheer / lightweight top, like I did in the picture below.

Back and neck pain can have several underlying causes. For example, any changes in the spine’s anatomy can lead to back pain, such as lumbar degenerative disc disease, lumbar disc herniation, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, or osteoarthritis.
Thanks for taking the time to explore back pain during pregnancy, I feel deeply about it and adore learning more on this subject. If necessary, when you develop experience, would you mind updating your blog with far more details? It is very positive for me.
