When I first agreed to the Money Supermarket “Room for Improvement” £50 Challenge I had a great idea about what I wanted to do…….
Having just invested in a large canvas to go on the wall above our bed, I was going to paint the walls a different colour to really showcase the picture and have a feature wall, as well as tidy up the shabby existing paintwork.
I then remembered that I am 8 months pregnant and therefore cannot move furniture around, let alone climb ladders AND that my husband is working away!
Hmmmm, change of plan then!
Sadly most of my ideas involved painting, but there is one area of my house that is the proverbial “dumping ground” – the Porch!
Shoes, coats, buggy’s, work stuff – it all gets dumped out there, especially by the kids. When I am childminding, the kids are all trained at taking their shoes off, but seem to enjoy leaving them in the middle of the floor so someone is liable to break their neck if they are not paying attention.
Now – it isn’t perfect as I still have half a bathroom in the porch, but it is an improvement.
I have cleared a space:
and now have somewhere to store the shoes!!!!
A friend of a friend is a fabulous craftsman, and had made these pencil coat hooks which I just had to have! The kids love them and finally I have somewhere to store their coats other than the floor or the buggy!
At £30 for the pair, that was my budget spent. I cannot wait to get the rest of the bathroom out of the porch so it is properly clear, but for now it will have to do!!
Those pencil hangers are FABULOUS!
They are, aren’t they!!
The coathooks are amazing! A good start on the transformation.
