Crave Maternity – A Review

I first found Crave Maternity on twitter and instantly fell in love with their clothing.

They have a huge range of clothing from lounge wear and jeans, knitwear and coats to occasion wear and accessories.

I have to admit that it was the occasion wear that really sold me and I was disappointed that I didn’t have a wedding to go to.

I did, however, have Cybher to attend and when I tweeted that I was considering getting their Ikat Shift Dress to wear I was over the moon when they sent it to me to review.

The dress is a simple, short shift dress with a high crew neck and short sleeves which skims over the hips and bump.  The back features a keyhole button opening.  It can be dressed up for the evening with statement jewellery, or dressed down for the day and worn with a pair of leggings or jeans.

I have to admit that I am not confident with my legs at the moment, so I chose to wear mine with a pair of black leggings, but I loved the fact the dress had a chiffon layer over the top and enough material in the sleeve to hide the tops of the arms, without being hot.

I was a 12-14 before I got pregnant, so I chose to order the 14 to be safe.  If I am honest, I would have liked a little bit of extra room around the tummy, but I am 36 weeks pregnant and am carrying a lot of water as well as baby.  I did also have to enlist hubby to do the button up at the nape as I couldn’t reach properly.

The dress drew lots of admiring comments and I felt cool and comfortable all day, so much so I didn’t mind getting papped by Jay Mountford a.k.a. @CosmicGirlie

The dress will also be perfect for after baby is born as it is hubby’s 40th two weeks after and I know I won’t be back in my normal clothes by then!  I may even wear it for his Christening too!

Crave also do a small nursing range too, which I am hoping they will be building on as finding stylish nursing wear can be a challenge!
