I was sent the Bug in a Rug Baby Blanket to review soon after Sebastian was born, but because the weather has been so glorious we never got the chance to try it – until now.
Designed for use in a Car Seat, a buggy or a sling it is a versatile baby blanket, simpler to use than a jacket or a coat, far less bulky and even water resistant too.
I had been worried about how I would keep Sebastian’s legs and feet warm when he was in his sling and have to admit that this is perfect.
You simply lay him on the blanket and tuck his feet into the legs and wrap the blanket around him and then secure with the velcro tab. The blanket comes in four sizes – 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months and 10-18 months to ensure you get the perfect fit.
Now, I have to admit that Sebastian was less than pleased at being wrapped up this morning as he is so used to being in a lightweight romper, but he soon cheered up when he realised he was going in the sling.
I let him have his arms free at first, but half way to school the heavens opened so I tucked him back in again. Eliza and I got soaked, but Sebastian stayed warm, comfortable and dry!
The multi-use blanket is also perfect for the car seat as it is far less bulky than a padded coat / snowsuit, which manufacturers recommend you don’t use when transporting a baby in the car. It can be used with all five point harness systems to ensure baby is kept safe too.
The blanket is made from a water resistant soft fleece which provides a snug swaddle which also promotes sleep. It is easier to use than a bulky jacket or footmuff on small infant with velcro ties allowing you to regulate baby’s temperature.
The blanket is also small enough to be easily stored in handbag so it is ideal for days out and is machine washable too!
I am definitely going to invest in the next size up and with prices starting from £21.99 and lots of colours to choose from it certainly won’t break the bank!

These look fab!
He is certainly warm enough, although they do do a thicker one for winter
