It’s 12 weeks since the arrival of my beautiful baby boy and he has changed so much already!
He now weighs in at a bouncing 13lb 7oz, proving that he does love his food and mummy’s milk is good stuff. I am very lucky that he took to breastfeeding so well but it hasn’t all been plain sailing – two bouts of mastitis and a cracked nipple for the first 9 weeks meant it was sometimes a painful if not worthwhile process.

His personality is starting to emerge. He is a really laid back little chap who loves to be talked to and rewards you with a beaming smile and don’t you just want to squeeze those chubby cheeks.
Recovery wise, I still don’t feel 100%. I still struggle to get out of bed, choosing to launch myself out by bringing my knees up and throwing myself forward and I have days where my scar is sore.

Physically I am doing more and more and get stomach pain if I do too much and pushing a trolley at a supermarket is a killer, but with hubby out of action after V-Day I have had to do the heavy lifting this last few days.
Exercise wise I still haven’t really done anything other than walking and have no idea where to start. I’d like to find time for swimming, but with a toddler and newborn in tow it’s a challenge in itself. I’d love to know what exercise you all do following a Caesarian.
Although I have managed to get into some pre-pregnancy clothes (those with elastic waists or that were too big), I can’t get into my jeans and I am starting to get frustrated with it as I weigh less than I did before I got pregnant. I am guessing it is due to loss of muscle tone? Thanks to Isaac for this rather unflattering pick, but this is me 12 weeks on, still with a rather prominent mum tum – but one I am very proud of.

Thank you :0)
That’s flown by! Your mention of cracked nipples brings back horrid memories, remember that pain oh so well and just trying to feed through that and a tongue tie. Totally wanting to squeeze those cheeks, so very cute!
It is such a relief when it stops hurting isn’t it!
You look amazing for 12 weeks on ! Sally x
Thanks lovely xx
