We’ve had the dreaded letter home……

That time of year has arrived.

The back to school cold?

No!

That dreaded letter…………. someone in your child’s class has nits!

In my experience they are very hard to prevent.  It doesn’t matter how tight you tie that ponytail, or how clean your child’s hair is pretty much every child will have them at some point in their lives (and I am already scratching my head just thinking about the pesky things).

The best way of getting rid of the little blighters is a metal tooth nit comb and lashings of conditioner.  You have to separate the hair into small partings and comb through and repeat this every three days for two weeks.  I then check the hair at least once a week thereafter.

I have been sent some Hedrin Protect & Go to review which promises to actively protect children against headlice infestations as well as keeping their hair looking healthy too.

How does it work?

The clinically proven conditioning spray works by killing lice before an infestation can take hold.  Just spray it in the hair and leave it to work; it’s as easy as that.

I was initially quite skeptical about using it, as head lice treatments normally have an unpleasant and easily recognisable scent to them.

I was pleasantly surprised by its fruity orange and mango fragrance and it is fantastic as a conditioning spray for Eliza’s soft baby hair that gets quite matted when she sleeps.  She has been at Nursery school for a month now and no sign of any little travellers either, so either she hasn’t been in contact with anyone with them or it is working.

They recommend you apply Hedrin Protect and Go regularly after every hair wash (at least twice a week) as part of your normal hair routine and it works equally well on wet (towel dried) or dry hair – simple spray on and comb through.

We ensure we use it before Eliza goes to playschool and any children’s play areas or parties just to be on the safe side.

So far so good!
