It’s almost the “C” word

**Whispers**  Did you know it is only 46 days until Christmas?

I am have pretty much finished our Christmas shopping, apart from anything Santa needs a hand with and the usual stock up on batteries.  We raided Sainsbury’s toy sale and got some fantastic bargains which, thanks to our nectar points didn’t cost a thing!

Shops are now starting to fill up with decorations and the temptation to add to our already brimming box of decorations is almost too much.  I would really love a real Christmas tree but they are just not practical with young children so I think we will stick to artificial. Our Christmas tree has served us very well and is starting to show signs of wear and tear, so it may just be time for me to check out the wide range of artificial Christmas trees that are available.

Now it’s getting dark early in the evening the one of the things I’m looking forward to is taking the kids out to see some of our neighbours get festive with outdoor Christmas lights. Every year I beg hubby to put some up, but he always gets out of it, although we would never be able to compete with some of the houses in our area!

We are also looking forward to our Elf on the Shelf coming to stay and are wondering what antics she will get up to.  She arrived quite late last year, but was found swinging from the ceiling decorations one morning and raiding the sweetie cupboard too!

One thing is for sure – I won’t be putting the decorations up until the week before Christmas – I like to keep excitement levels down as long as possible!
