We were sent the Skylanders Swap Force Starter Pack to review which includes the game, Portal of Power, characters and more!
The Swap Force Skylanders characters have the ability to mix and match their abilities and powers. They simply separate in the middle and snap together in new combinations to give them different powers – the ultimate in cool apparently!
From high up in the gloomy Batcrypt Mountains, Night Shift was a full-fledged baron and heir to a great fortune. But one day he decided to leave it all behind to pursue his dream as a prizefighter. It wasn’t long before Night Shift became the undefeated phantom-weight champion of Skylands, famous for his massive uppercut and for having once bitten an opponent in the ring. Unfortunately, a rule change made teleportation illegal and Night Shift was forced to give up his belt, officially ending his career as a boxer. Crestfallen over being disqualified from a sport he loved so dearly, his spirits picked up when he was sought out by Master Eon, who told him that his skill as a fighter could be put to great use as a member of the Skylanders.
Skylanders giants have been a huge hit in our house. Can you use the same portal for the swap force that you use for the giants?
No, sadly not. You need to buy the full set, but it is half price at the moment if you get cracking!
Woah – just a few Skylanders then! Skylanders have passed Ozzy by, I think it’s because he’s in reception maybe – come Year One he’ll probably be after them!
It was Isaac’s older brother that got him hooked – the kids in Isaac’s class are more into Moshi Monsters
These look fab. My youngest doesn’t seem interested though – maybe he’s too old at ten already?
My 13 year old loves to play too – depends what sort of game play they enjoy
My two girls are completely uninterested in this sort of thing but there’s still a chance for my son in a few years.
I find girls tend to prefer the “life games” – well mine do
I keep hearing about Skylanders but my daughter doesn’t seem to be into them!
Reading comments and tweets it does seem more of a boy thing!
My son (13) loves Skylanders and wants the swap force thing for Christmas. He’s only allowed to play those kind of games at his dad’s though so I leave it to him to buy them!
Good plan – it gets expensive when they want all the extra characters
My son is a little too young (4) for Skylanders although he has just started to notice them. God help me when he does! A marvellous collection though, that’s pretty impressive!
Its a couple of years worth there!
we have not started out with skylanders yet, im sure my 5 year old would like so its on my list for the future!
Hold out as long as you can!
