As part of the Ideal Games official reviewer team we were sent Silly Moo to review, which is described as “The Cow Milking Game. She drops pints to win and pats to lose.” I have to admit I was a little unsure about the concept – it does seem a bit odd pulling at her udders.
Setting up the game is quick and easy – especially when you have impatient small people wanting to play. You simply put Silly Moo onto her grass base then place the pints and pats into the hole in the back one at a time, twisting her tail to ensure they are all muddled up. Don’t worry, this doesn’t hurt her!
The game is aimed at ages 3 years and up so the rules are simple. You take it in turns to roll the dice then pull Silly Moo’s udders the number of times the dice says. If you get a pint you score a point – if you get a cow pat you lose a point. There is also one golden pint which is worth three points. If you roll the dice and it lands on “Moo” you miss a turn.
Eliza enjoyed this game as the rules are very simple to understand and the udders are easy to pull. It is the ideal game to help children learn early numbers, fine motor skills and taking it in turns. It appeals to Isaac to as he likes making the cow “pat” – that’s boys for you!
