Exclusive LEGO Models only at Shell

Nothing brings out the kid in us more than playing with LEGO.  Now Shell and its technical partner Ferrari have joined forces with the LEGO group to launch an exclusive promotion, pulling into forecourts all over the UK from 7th November to 8th January 2014.

Shell customers can collect a range of 6 limited edition mini Ferrari model LEGO cars when they purchase £30 or more of Shell’s performance fuel Shell V-Power Nitro+, each car is just £1.49.  Shell V-Power Nitro+ Unleaded and Diesel are two fuels introduced earlier this year that are designed to instantly get to work inside your engine on deposits that can reduce the performance of your car.

We have been lucky enough to get hold of all six of the cars and Kian couldn’t wait to get building.

The cars are fairly simple to build which mean’t that Isaac got to help Kian.  The collection includes:
  • Scuderia Ferrari Truck which is a key part of the Ferrari team as it is used to transport cars and equipment to races around the world
  • Ferrari F40 with its classic aerodynamic form and distinctive rear spoiler.  This edition is the famous F40 Monteshell car which won the Italian GP Championships in its debut year.
  • Ferrari 150 Italia which was named to celebrate 150 years of Italy’s reunification.  Each model comes with a choice of livery:  Felipe Massa No 6 or Fernando Alonso no 5.
  • Ferrari 458 Italia, arguably the most iconic car in the current Ferrari range.  The 458 Italia possesses legendary performance and handling.  Its signature details are captured beautifully, from the triple exhaust and air scoops to the multi LED front headlights.
  • Ferrari FXX which is a racing evolution of the Enzo.  It has even more power and handling performance than its road-going relative.  The LEGO model has been designed in the famous black livery and reflects the car’s original sleek and aggressive styling.
  • Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta which is a genuine legend.  It was considered to be Ferrari’s and Pininfarina’s best looking cars and was the start of a great classic development of Ferraris.  Only 176 were made.
The boys couldn’t wait to get started on the next challenge……….
We had lots of fun trying (and failing) at building ramps.  We discovered that our dining rooms chairs didn’t have enough friction so the idea of getting the cars to jump over Eliza failed miserably.  We then tried setting a jump up on the floor to launch the cars over Isaac but that didn’t work either!
We also tried the ramp at lots of angles to see what worked best.
Here is our finished attempt:
