Fun at the Park

I am so fed up with this wet and windy weather.  We have barely been out apart from the school runs and clubs the kids attend and that is so unlike us.  I am the first to don wet weather gear and brave the elements, but with warnings to stay away from the beach, rivers and the forest locally it has been hard finding something to do outside.

Sunday saw a brief break in the weather, there may even have been a bit of sunshine, so we headed off in search of some fresh air.

With warnings to stay away from the beaches still in place we headed for Whitecliff, which is set beside Poole Harbour.  It is the perfect setting to fly a kite as there is lots of space and after a few attempts we finally got the kite airborne, although it was almost too windy and the kite nosedived back down to earth quite a few times.

Kite Flying

As the wind was still very strong Isaac and Eliza couldn’t control the kite so we headed for the park, where they got down to the serious business of having fun!

We spend over an hour swinging, spinning, rocking and climbing before the weather started to make a turn for the worse again.  They still had enough energy to race back to the car though.

Running

I had almost forgotten what it was like to be out and about in the fresh air – it definitely blew the cobwebs away!

  1. It seems everyone saw the sun this weekend and jumped straight out of the house! It has been raining so much, that sun was so welcomed. It looks like you had lots of fun in the sun 🙂

  2. Sounds like you had the best time out Kara – there’s nothing better than getting outdoors especially when you’ve been couped up indoors! We did the same at the weekend, the sun came out and we were off!
