While it may only seem like it’s been a week since the kids have been back at school following the Christmas break, it won’t be long before you’re trying to keep them entertained for the duration of February half term, in the vain hope that you won’t be at your wit’s end by the end of the week. While many parents may opt to keep them amused at home, or by enrolling them into a local play scheme, others will be happy to take some time off work to enjoy the quality time with the kids before they return to the classroom.
Depending on where you plan to go in the country, you can expect to find a huge range of fantastic attractions that would suit a family day out perfectly. While some theme parks won’t be opening their doors in time for the February half term, there are other attractions across England that would be perfect for you and your brood, including:

Head for Birmingham and treat the kids to a day out at this sweet-tastic attraction, where you can learn about the various processes that make up the manufacture of chocolate, create your own chocolaty masterpiece and lose yourself in the gift shop for a while.

London Zoo
As one of the top zoos in the country, a visit to this fabulous zoo in the heart of our capital will equal a fun-filled day for everyone. Found in the heart of Regent’s Park, London Zoo is home to a vast array of creatures big and small that will be on the prowl for you to enjoy.

Great suggestions. We loved Bristol Zoo when we went in the summer, as it was easier to get around and had some really lovely animals there. My son – who loves to be scared – also really liked the London Tombs and London Bridge experience. He says it’s even better than the London Dungeons and has written about it on our blog. Keep meaning to go to York – it’s on our list…
Aww we haven’t been to any of your suggested places yet. It’s pretty tricky having days out as we don’t yet drive (Mummy is currently going through lessons). Cadbury World sounds great, for obvious reasons!
