A wardrobe full of clothes yet nothing to wear. We’ve all had this particular issue, and when you have kids, it just so happens that most of those chosen few garments you do have are covered in spit-up, mud and who-knows-what. The weather forecasters have predicted a boiling summer this year, but looking outside the window and that said sun appears to be in hiding, or at least for the time being anyway.
So what can you wear on those days that seem to include all of the four seasons?! With online fashion guides like Motilo, you can create amazing looks with the click of a button to help solve such fashion dilemmas. So using their interactive service we’ve compiled some handy tips…
Anorak or Brolly?
Do you ever feel like you’re spending a significant sum on umbrellas? Whether it’s leaving them at the bus stop or buckling under the weight of the wind, brollies never seem to be able to stand the test of time. Plus, it happens to be something else you need to juggle as well as a pram, a couple of kids and the Mary Poppin’s style mega-bag. Keep your hands free and look stylish with a fashionable anorak instead. Many are lightweight, some come with their own compact bag and they’re hot this season too with the festivals coming up. The High Street has some great options, all perfect for keeping the rain off in style.
Wellies or Pumps?
Neither! Despite the popularity of Hunters Wellies now, there is no need for the sturdy boot especially in a bustling city. They only look appropriate in a field. And pumps? Well, hardly practical in a downpour. In terms of footwear, dig out your ankle boots for dry toes and ultimate comfort. Yes, you’ve shoved them in the back of your wardrobe until the autumn rears its head again but with our unpredictable weather, they are a must. In black or brown, they are versatile and make you feel stylish, no matter how frumpy you’re feeling.
T-shirt vs Jumper…
It is not always cold enough for a jumper, despite the rain. This is especially true for spring and summer downpours. You can end up feeling clammy and warm or carrying around those extra layers. Such an inconvenience. Obviously check the forecast before leaving, but a t-shirt or thin jumper should be all the layers you need to keep you warm underneath your anorak.
Satchel or Rucksack…
It doesn’t matter! As long as it’s waterproof, your belongings are safe. If you have multiple little ones running around like me, you may wish to opt for a backpack to free up the hands, but a stylish leather satchel can easily slot onto the handles of your pram as well. One thing is for certain; you need a bag big enough for all of your belongings, as well as theirs too!
Leaving the house at the minute, and I don’t have a clue what to pack; umbrella, sunglasses, jacket? We apparently need anything and everything just for a trip to the shops. With some fashion advice and a simple set of rules, you will be prepared whatever the unpredictable British weather has in store.
