Kiddicare Stride ‘n’ Ride Buggyboard Review

I have been toying with getting a buggyboard for a while now as Eliza is almost 4 and I rarely use our double buggy, however, if we are on days out she often complains her legs are aching and one of us ends up carrying her.

As part of the National Walk to School week, Kiddicare wanted to encourage families to walk to school and offered me their Stride ‘n’ Ride to review.

The Stride ‘n’ Ride is designed for children from 2-6 yrs and up to a maximum of 20kg. It is a strong, practical and playful solution for you when a double pushchair is not convenient and enables your child to stand at the back of your pushchair when their little legs are tired. The Stride n Ride easily attaches to the rear of most umbrella folding pushchairs and can be lifted up when not in use with the strap attached.

It arrived boxed but required some assembly.  I am very used to putting buggies together, but the instructions weren’t very clear I found fitting it all together was a really challenge.  In the end I had to wait for hubby to get home and even he had to use all his strength just to push the wheels and arms in.

Once the main structure was together it was time to attach it to the buggy.  It didn’t fit either my Britax B-Agile or Affinity, which are not even listed on the Buggy Board Fit-Finder.  Thankfully it fits my Silver Cross Reflex (also not listed) and we were ready to set off on the school run.

stride and Ride

We started off brilliantly – Eliza was in her element riding on the back of the buggy and I had plenty of leg room still to walk. Then we hit some trouble – the board kept tilting forward, tipping Eliza off.

I stopped, adjusted the board and made sure all the fixings were a tight as they would go but it happened again and again, so we gave up and she walked.  Isaac wanted a go when we collected him and he positioned his weight farther back and we had more success until we hit a bump which caused the board to tip forward again.

I have to say I wouldn’t recommend this Buggy Board as it just isn’t fit for purpose!!
