Drowning in Toys

Sometimes I feel like I live in a toy shop and I am sinking under a pile of brightly coloured stuff.  Try as i might to clear it away I only have to turn my back for a millisecond and it is all back out and covering the floors again!  Hubby has given up asking if it has been a bad day when he gets home from work and there are toys strewn everywhere – I am pretty sure the death stares worked, but it may have been the fact that he actually witnessed it himself the other day.

Try as I might to tell the kids “Put that away if you have finished with it” it seems to fall on deaf ears.  I can forgive Sebby for up-ending the car box again, he is too young to understand, but why does Eliza have to do it………with EVERY toy box?

She will trash the dining room and then abandon it and do exactly the same thing in her bedroom but when it comes to tidying it away again, the wailing begins.

In the hope that they could help, the kind team at Plastic Box Shop sent me some large toy boxes to review.

By large, I mean HUGE!!!!!

Each box can hold 80 litres of toys!

I am using these boxes to store the wooden train track, which used to take up two boxes on its own and the masses of megablox we seem to have inherited.

These boxes are great for keeping things out of sight and my plan is to rotate the toys that are inside every couple of weeks so the kids find other things to play with and enjoy.  Because these boxes are so large I am keeping them under the stairs which helps me keep the downstairs of our house at least appearing toy free, even if it is only once the kids are in bed!
