Choosing a family car can be a tricky experience.
I have to admit that when it was time to change ours last year I was really looking forward to the search but I actually found it incredibly stressful.
I knew we needed a 7 seater, which did limit our choices quite substantially but what I wasn’t prepared for was car dealers that were literally trying to force you to sign then and there for a car which you felt was unsuitable – in fact I am still getting text messages from one urging me to go in for another test drive.
After weeks of testing driving cars, seeing if we could fit three car seats along the back row and testing out the boot space I had my front runners. If I am honest I do not think a car big enough actually exists, especially in our price range but I am more than happy with our Citroen C4 Grand Picasso.
So, what does the average family car go through?
