Rustoleum Chalk Board Paint

Rust-Oleum® Specialty Chalk Board Spray converts surfaces into a usable chalkboard and we were sent some to try.

It can be applied to metal, wood, plastic, hardboard, glass or paperboard so the choices are endless but we opted to use a piece of MDF that had been nailed to the wall in the garden to protect the brickwork by the previous owners who owned a punch bag. We never got around to taking it down so it seemed right to make it a useable plaything for the kids.

We waited for a still, dry day to spray the board and set to work.  The spray went on evenly, although I would recommend you do it outside as it has quite a strong smell to it.  The spray was touch dry within 30 minutes however it is recommended you leave for 24 hours to dry thoroughly.

Chalkboard Paint

Priced at just £9.49 it is a really inexpensive way of turning almost anything into a useable chalkboard and it has transformed an unused wall into something fun for the kids.
