When I look back at my childhood like all families we had ups and downs, but my mum always had my best interests at heart even if I didn’t think so at the time.
Littlewoods are currently running a #MumsKnowsBest campaign and have challenged me to write a thank you letter to my Mum referring to a time when they knew best.
Dear Mum
I am sorry for not listening to you when you offered out your advise. Being a parent myself now I understand how frustrating this must have been at the time.
- For telling me not to eat all the strawberries I was picking in Grandpa’s garden as it would give me tummy ache – it did!
- For telling me not to eat the fruit in the punch at my friends party. How was I to know that it contained more alcohol than the punch itself!
- For making me clear up afterwards – lesson learned!
- For telling me that getting my ears pierced would hurt – ouchie!
- For telling me to save my money and not spend it on rubbish, sweets and friends
- For telling me that boy would break my heart as wasn’t a good ‘un
- For making me wear sensible shoes to protect my feet – wish I hadn’t started wearing heels all the time as can’t go near them now.
What one piece of advice did your Mum give you that you wished you had listened to?
