Topsy and Tim Go Camping #LittleBigMoments

Eliza adores the CBeebies show Topsy and Tim so when we were invited to get involved with the #littlebigmoments campaign with Ladybird Books we jumped at the chance.

A trusted and well-loved pair Topsy and Tim books have been beautifully updated with contemporary artwork. Topsy & Tim remain instantly recognisable to parents while in a fresh style that will appeal to a new generation of fans.

Topsy and Tim love to find fun and adventure in the real world. In Topsy and Tim: Go Camping, the twins make new friends, follow a nature trail and even get to stay in their own tent.

Topsy and Tim Go Camping

Reading the book was a great way to prepare both Isaac and Eliza for our camping holiday and they even took the book with them to read in the tent.

Camping

Like in the book we took two tents, one large one for us and a small one for Kian. Like in the story, putting up a tent can be a bit of a challenge but it got easier and everyone was keen to help. Eliza was the peg princess and in charge of handing out the pegs and Isaac was “Mallet Boy”!!

Camping can be scary, especially at night as it gets really dark, but we took the kids battery operated nightlights which emit a warm glow so there was come light in the tents.

Just like Topsy and Tim they made some friends on the campsite and were soon whizzing down the hill, racing each other on skateboards.

This is why you should always take a skateboard camping! @campbestival #campbbloggers #festival

We also got to take part in a nature inspired trail too, just like in the book only we did ours in fancy dress.

  1. The first time I heard him climb out of bed, take himself to the bathroom for a wee, flush, then go back & quietly play in his room. I’d been telling him to do that for ages rather than climb into bed with us but as soon as he did I felt sad as he was growing up #littlebigmoments

  3. When she first turned to me and said “Thank you Mummy, that dinner was delicious!” She was about 2 and a half at the time and it melted me!
