KETTLE® Bites is a new everyday healthier snack range from KETTLE® Chips, targeted at consumers who want great tasting snacks with fewer calories. This new launch taps into the growing trend for healthier snack products, offering the KETTLE® reassurance of delicious real food and quality, in a category consumers often associate with ‘compromise’.
KETTLE® Bites are crispy baked wholegrain waves and lentil curls, seasoned with real food ingredients and benefit from less than 100 calories per pack and 50% less fat than standard crisps.
The range consists of: 2 x 22g handy packs, Maple Barbecue Wholegrain Waves and Mozzarella & Pesto Lentil Curls. The Lentil Curls are offered in Sweet Chilli and Mozzarella & Pesto Wholegrain Waves in Maple Barbecue and Coconut, Lime & Chilli and all products are suitable for vegetarians.
I was lucky enough to be sent some boxes of the Maple Barbecue flavour to hand out to fellow Mums as part of a Talk to Mums campaign. Over 300 went into the goody bags at Blog On UK and the feedback that came back from everyone was mostly positive. There was some surprise at how light the bag felt but when opening the pack it was full to bursting with the wholegrain textured bites and was bursting with flavour.
Personally I really liked the flavour and they have a nice deep crunch to them. They work well as a lunchtime snack or you can jazz them up by using them as a dipping chip – sour cream works really well with this flavour.
Some commented that the bags felt better quality than normal crisps and that it felt like a more grown-up option. One commented that they are too noisy to eat at her desk at work, however, that turned into a win as it stopped her working through her lunch break.
Keep an eye out for me at the school gates and our networking group Lemur Linkup as I still have more to hand out for you to try. I really fancy trying out the Sweet Chilli Lentil Curls next.
Disclaimer: I was sent a rather large batch of Kettle Bites Waves to try and share with other mums, all words are genuine feedback from those that tried the snacks
Yummy!!! They look delicious, especially your idea of dipping them in sour cream. I love these sort of crisps as an accompaniment to other foods 🙂
Oh wow these all sound delicious! I am a sucker for snacks like this – I love that they are less fat than crisps! Kaz x
