Taking the stress out of travel with Holiday Extra’s

Over the last 32 years, Holiday Extras has earned its place as the UK market leader for travel add-ons; offering pre-booked airport hotels and airport parking, airport lounges, Airports by Rail, Hotels with Coach and holiday insurance as its core offerings, with car hire launching this year.

We were lucky enough to road test their service on our recent cruise holiday by booking overnight accommodation and parking before our flight to Barcelona.

We had considered driving to Gatwick on the morning of our flight, but it would have meant leaving the house at 3am and the thought of dragging the kids out of bed at that time of the morning filled us with dread.

The website is really easy to use, simply select which airport you are travelling from and the dates of travel to and from the airport and what service you would like and it will find you the best deal.

We selected a hotel for the night before our departure and parking for the duration of our 8 day cruise and a room, at the Holiday Inn Express and parking came to £114, plus a second room for £64 as we are a family of six, and often find we are unable to find family rooms which will accommodate us all.

The Holiday Express Inn was very comfortable, with good-sized bedrooms and plenty of room to spread out. We checked out at 5am but they still served continental breakfast, cereal and toast for early travellers which was an added bonus and meant the kids were not moaning they were hungry.

We then drove the short distance to Gatwick Airport where we left our car with Mapel Manor Parking in the Short Stay car park near the South terminal and had our car parked for us and brought back again when your flight lands upon your return to the country.

I cannot fault the service and the price was really reasonable too. We were offered a valet of the car for a small extra charge and getting the car back on time and in pristine condition and clean was an added bonus.

  1. You must have a great time with your family there. The night view looks stunning! I’ll try to make a trip like this for my family. It’s been a long time that we haven’t gone to somewhere together!
