Back in May 2016 I was invited to review a pair of Ibiza Sandals from Strive Footwear and it is safe to say that I have lived in them all summer.
I have suffered with foot pain since my mid-twenties after walking miles everyday during my role in a supermarket and have tried everything from orthotics in my shoes to fit flops and even reflexology to get rid of the pain and my Strive Sandals were amazing and I have been managing the pain in my feet without medication for the first time in years.
Strive Footwear have been pioneering foot health and wellness since 1980 by engineering authentic footwear technology that will limit the stress and strains of everyday life.
Every Strive shoe or sandal incorporates their ergonomically designed Biomechanical Footbed TechnologyTM, which accurately reflects the unique contours of your feet. By mapping these unique contours, the footbed technology may help to reduce harmful stresses placed upon your feet and body, a contributing factor associated with many common aches and pains such as Metatasalgia, Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis, Knee Pain and Shin Splints.
BFT technology is the unique combination of a contoured footbed, patent pending dual density sole unit and a worldwide patented sole geometry which can help to reduce excessive pronation, align the body and by properly supporting the foot can save energy by reducing muscle fatigue.
I was invited to choose a pair of shoes from their Autumn/Winter range to put to the test and settled on a pair of Maine casual lightweight walking shoes which are made from a luxurious soft Nubuck leather.
With high quality breathable linings that promise to keep feet fresh and dry for long days on your feet. I put them to the test as only I can – with a day at Moors Valley and more notably on the Go Ape course.
We must have walked at least five miles that day and the shoes were amazingly comfortable, even when I was balancing precariously on the wooden beams.
The heel grip is quite high and supersoft and even on my first time wearing them I felt no discomfort at all. My only niggle, and it’s a very slight one, is that there are not enough grips on them, so they felt a little slippy on the damp wood.
The Maine shoes have a RRP of £74.95 and can be purchased online at Strivefootwear.com or find a Strive stockist near you here.
These look perfect for a treetop adventure .

How brilliant that you have found something that helps like that. I suffer with hip pain and quite a few people have suggested that shoes might help the situation and I really should investigate what’s on offer
