Christmas time for us is when we break all the board games out and enjoy a family challenge and this year we have a new game to play, Rapidough from Drumond Park RRP: £27.99.
The best way to describe the game is like a sculpting version of charades and the kids couldn’t wait to break the play dough out of the box.
In the box are two plastic mats, two pots of modelling dough, two modelling knives, two dough pluggers and a box of challenge cards.
Divide yourself into two teams; Yellow and Blue. Team members take turns in being a modeller with the rest of the team being guessers. The idea of the game is to use your clay to model what you see on the card.
There are three types of card; Cards with one word, Cards with three words, Cards printed with two words, each one on a team coloured background. On the ones with a choice, you can choose which object you want to model.
It is surprisingly difficult to model, as both teams are shouting at you with their bizarre guesses – the above picture is Eliza’s cannon and ball and below is my attempt at a frog, which no-one guessed?
Guess too slow and you lose some dough! – the team that wins the round gets to STEAL dough from the opposing tea, by taking a plug of dough using the dough plugger.
When one team runs out of dough, the other team wins!!
