Crayola Scoot – Review

We are the proud owners of the Nintendo Switch at home and it is by far the families favourite games console.

We enjoy playing many different games on it, from the skillful Arms to the energetic Just Dance, to haring around the Mariokart to building our own fun with Nintendo Labo.

We have been on the lookout for a new game to try when we were introduced to Crayola Scoot.

Crayola Scoot is a four-player game that has just been released for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PS4. It is the perfect game for younger kids as is a non-violent old school co-operative game, which can be played by the whole family, to try and beat the Scoot Legends in a rainbow of exciting events like Splatter Tag, Trick Run, and S.C.O.O.T!

The kids love playing Splatoon and Crayola Scoot has the paint spraying elements of that game, alongside a bit of Tony Hawks tricks thrown in for good measure. The aim of the game is for the scooter rider to drench the park their specific colour by performing tricks on their scooters and bigger, longer trick strings equal larger paint splats.

You start the game by designing your very own character and choosing your ‘splat’ colour, before learning how to scoot and how to do some basic tricks. Once you have mastered that, you can start taking part in the challenges.

Each challenge allows you to unlock 80 pieces of clothing, including helmets, tops, and trousers, so you can change your style as the game progresses, and the main focus of the game is to win the prestigious Crayola Colour Cup. This is achieved by taking on a leaderboard full of Scoot Legends in a number of events.

The game appealed most to Eliza and Sebby as the controls were easy to master and they were soon rewarded for their efforts with colourful paint spewing from their scooters – the bigger the tricks, the more paint splatters they are rewarded with.

Their favourite game is definitely Colour Frenzy, which has you competing against five other characters to perform tricks throughout skate parks, which blasts your colour paint in every direction covering ramps, rails, walls and the ground, but there five other playing modes, including team and solo events to play: Crazy Crayons, Splatter Tag, S.C.O.O.T. and Trick Run.

You can also challenge the outrageous Scoot Legends for the Crayola Colour Cup on 12 parks across three worlds and leave your mark on each park by bringing mega-sized pieces of art to life on walls and on the ground.

Crayola Scoot is a colourful and fun game that the whole family can enjoy!!
