I dread buying school shoes!
The kids spend most of the week wearing them, so investing in a pair that are hard wearing, look great and are comfortable is a must for me.
As the kids get older, they also have their own mind about what they will, and will not wear too, which only adds to the “shoe shopping” pain.
Treads shoes have been designed to solve the problem faced by many parents of constantly having to replace their children’s school shoes due to them breaking, sometimes after just a few weeks.
They’re inspired by the hard-wearing safety footwear found in the construction industry are built to last with reinforced heels and seams, shock absorbing insoles and a removable foot beds to cater for growing feet.
Until now, Treads shoes were only for boys, but I am excited to reveal that they have just launched a new range for girls and Eliza has been sent a pair of Montana Brogues to review.
Treads currently have two girls’ school shoes options currently available, with more styles, including Mary Janes, coming soon.
Their entire range of shoes for both boys and girls are made from premium, genuine leather and come in a range of styles to suit all ages. Their Junior range is aimed at children from age 6 to 16 with juniors in size 13 – 4 and their tween and teen range from size 3 – 11.
I am looking forward to seeing how well these shoes fare with Eliza as she scoots to school daily, which takes its toll on her shoes, plus she often plays football with the boys at lunchtime.
For added peace of mind, the Treads range of shoes comes with a 12 month indestructible guarantee, free delivery and returns and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
To find the perfect size shoes for your child, try out their size calculator.
My only grumble is that they don’t come smaller, as my kids have tiny feet, so Sebby will have to wait a while for a pair!!
I will keep you posted on how Eliza gets on with them.

Oo I really like this stylish and classic design for a pair of school shoes. This September my eldest daughter will be starting school (where does the time go?!), so we’ll be school shoe shopping in no time!
I love that they are making girls school shoes now. I will be thinking about over the summer for the next school year. My youngest is terrible for going through school shoes. I need something which will last. x
I love the style of these and a 12 month indestructible guarantee seems really impressive.
I do remember school days when mum and I would struggle to get my shoes as I wanted fashionable she wanted long-lasting. This looks lovely.
I’m just about to order a pair of these for my son, having done a round-up post on school shoes recently. My daughter needs new shoes but she wears adult size 8 and I the last time I looked they didn’t gonup this high (but will look again)
I’m so keen to hear how she gets on with these. Roo started high school in September and we are already on to her second pair of shoes, with a third one looking likely before Easter
Those are lovely shoes. I really like school shoes that look smart and those definitely do.
These are lovely, long gone are the days of heavy awful looking school shoes of my day! lol
They are really stylish shoes, Alice would love them. Always good to find school shoes that actually of the job!
These look and sound great, I wish they did smaller girls ones as my daughter is so active at school scooting, playing football and climbing so these would be ideal for her x
We have these for Harry and they are FAB! They really are so well made aren’t they?
I remember it was a pain for mum to find me school shoes, we would spend hours in Clark’s find the ‘best’ pair! I’m glad there’s a shoe brand that looks stylish and has a 12 months garentee!
The shoes look great. I bet they would last and last.
These look like really cool school shoes, I never remember having much choice when it came to shoes when I was in school although loads of kids tried getting away with all black converse instead x
Your post reminds me that I may have to buy school shoes too, as my son starts reception from September.
These sound great. I’m fed up of having to keep replacing my son’s school shoes before they’ve outgrown them.
These look great for back to school shoes – stylish but also durable and practical, perfect school shoe choice

I haven’t heard of these before but they look cool. Not sure I would have liked them at school but I think they wouldn’t have been in fashion back then! Wonder how long they will stay nice and shiny!
How exciting that they have released a range for girls now. We bought Jack a pair of Treads in September and they are lasting well, such good quality.
These look great. I also really dread buying schools they never seem to last more than half a term. I blame the football in the playground.
These shoes look amazing for school – practical but also stylish and some of the nicest ones I’ve seen!! I’m going to try pick up some for my boys
