Looking for the perfect gift for Mother’s Day – Ember has the solution!

It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday (31st March 2019) and if you haven’t found the perfect gift for your Mum, I have the solution.

There are many things you miss when you become a Mum – a social life, using the bathroom uninterupted … but at the top of the list is the ability to drink a cup of tea (or coffee) whilst it’s still hot.

Then, as the kids get older you start playing Mum’s taxi, ferrying them to their various clubs, sporting venues etc and parties, many of which you are expected to hang around, often in inclement weather.

Introducing Ember – the mug that lets users set and maintain their ideal drinking temperature for hot beverages – right down to the exact degree.

There are two types of mug to choose from, The Ember Ceramic Mug and the Ember Travel Mug.

The Ember Ceramic Mug

Ember Ceramic Mug

The Ember Ceramic Mug gives users complete control over their drinking temperature for hot beverages right down to the exact degree (50 – 62°C), ensuring each sip is as good as the first.

Users simply connect to the Ember mobile app to remotely set the desired drinking temperature, receive notifications when that temperature is reached, save pre-sets for favourite hot drinks and more.

It will keep hot beverages at the perfect temperature for approximately one hours, or all day long when used with the charging coaster.

The Ember Travel Mug

Ember’s patented thermal technology and award-winning industrial design allows users to enjoy a hot beverage at their perfect temperature, wherever they go, in style. As with the Ceramic Mug, the Ember Travel Mug allows users to set and maintain their ideal drinking temperature to the exact degree (50 – 62°C). The Ember Travel Mug will notify users when their drink is at the selected temperature, ensuring no more burnt tongues, or unpleasant lukewarm coffee.

Users can adjust the temperature by using the Ember app or via the rotating dial at the base of the mug. Through the app, users can remotely set their desired drinking temperature, receive notifications when that temperature is reached, save presets for their favourite drinks, and more. It will keep hot beverages at the perfect temperature for approximately two hours on the go, or all day long when used with the charging coaster.

The mugs are also fully integrated with the Apple Health app, allowing users to track their caffeine consumption daily.

We were sent the Ember Travel Mug to review and the first thing we noticed was that it was packaged in a similar way to an iPhone.

Inside the box:

  • Ember Travel Mug
  • 360° Leak-proof lid
  • Charging Coaster
  • Power adapter
  • Quick-start guide

It is super simple to get started, plug the adapter in and sit the mug on top to charge it – it even flashes up “Hello”.

The Ember Travel Mug has a leak-proof, push-to-open lid which is designed to keep your hot beverage from spilling while on the go. The 360º drinking experience makes it convenient to sip from any side, and it is engineered for easy cleaning.

To adjust the temperature you can either rotate the dial at the base of the mug, or pair with the Ember app, available on App Store and Google Play, to set your desired drinking temperature.

The Ember app will notify you once your drink has reached your preferred temperature plus you can choose and save presets for different drinks, switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit and even name your mug.

There is however one small niggle with the travel mug – it is too large for the cup holders in the car.

The Ember Travel Mug has an RRP of £159.95 and the Ember Ceramic Mug has an RRP of £79.95 and both come in black or white colourways. Find out more at www.ember.com

  1. This is such a great product – and so useful both inside and outside the house! I don’t drink hot drinks that often, but I could definitely see myself using it whenever I do (or even for soup!)

  2. The travel mug sounds great, it would definitely make a good present for busy mums. My daughter is 16 now and I’m still not sure I can remember what a hot cup of tea is haha!
