Isaac and Eliza are at an age now where I am happy for them to play outside and I love seeing them head out with their friends.
A couple of weeks ago, ROLLPLAY invited us to road test their new Nighthawk, a sit, slide and glide ride for preteens.
With its leading-edge design creating a new sub-segment of ride-on toys, kids can glide through exhilarating curves and feel the sensational control of the ROLLPLAY Nighthawk as they learn how to master the unique riding action.

When you first get the Nighthawk out of the box it needs a minimum of 12 hours charge before you first use it, with the charger unit being found under the seat.

The kids could not wait to try it and the first to put the Nighthawk through its paces was Isaac and it took him a few practice runs to really get the hang of it.

By your feet are accelerator and brake pedals which allow variable speed control and to steer the Nighthawk you need to lean into the curve, the way you want to turn.

There are also handlebars placed either side of the seat protect hands and offer complete control, two small wheels on either side to stop you tipping over and a rear flag for safety.

It is great fun to ride and once you get the hang of the Nighthawk, you can create your own obstacle course and challenges.

The Nighthawk has a maximum speed of 6mph and is designed for children aged 6 years and over, which means Sebby got to try it out too.

You need quite a bit of space to get the most out of your Nighthawk. We live in a Cul-de-Sac which is perfect, or you could use an empty car park or promenade, but it is worth noting that it doesn’t work on grass.

The Nighthawk is definitely a draw and at one point we had several school friends joining us to have a go.

The Nighthawk has a run time of approximately 60 minutes, although we got about 90 minutes out of it and the 12V battery is quickly rechargeable overnight.

The Nighthawk is available in both white and red and is available from Smyths Toys for an RRP of £149.99 (Currently on offer at £129.99) and the team at UKMums TV are giving one away on their blog!
I have a feeling our house is going to be a very popular place over the summer holidays!!

This is awesome, I’d love to have a go at this! Although I have to be honest, I don’t think I’d be able to wait the minimum 12 hours charge time upon arrival! x
That looks like so much fun! I think they should do them in adult sizes. hehehe

I’ve been seeing these on social media and can’t help feeling a little envious that they are only available for children. Why can’t us adults have a turn?
It looks like a good laugh and a fun toy for kids, I can see a benefit of this product for kids who might struggle with learning to ride a bike or feeling scared of it x

This looks brilliant! My boys would love it! 90 minutes is quite a good amount of time for the battery to last. Much longer than my cordless vacuum!
