Luvabella Newborn Review

Eliza is a proud Mama to two Luvabella dolls – Iris and Elena.

I love watching her play and interact with them and you can often find her pushing them around the house in their pram, or putting them in a baby carrier to take to the park.

Now there is a new Luvabella doll out for her look after and love – Luvabella Newborn.

Eliza’s Luvabella Newborn doll is named Clara-Rose after her two favourite Dr Who assistants and has the same natural expressions, realistic facial movements and sounds that her big sisters have.

The difference between Luvabella and Luvabella Newborn

Luvabella newborn is smaller and lighter than the original Luvabella dolls.

Luvabella sisters

Original Luvabella is made from hard plastic, whereas the newborn is softer. This does mean her arms and legs are not poseable and therefore she does not sit up.

Although Luvabella Newborn is lighter than her sisters, she does weigh more than your average doll thanks to the mechanics to make her face move. She also requires 4 x AA batteries, which you insert into her back.

Luvabella

Luvabella Newborn has natural facial expressions and dynamic movement – her eyes and mouth really open and close as she tells you how she’s feeling. She also makes the sweetest newborn sounds and affectionately responds to your touch!

Just like a real baby, Luvabella Newborn is able to express if she’s feeling hungry, fussy, happy or needs winding.

How does Luvabella Newborn work?

When she’s hungry, feed her with her bottle. She really suckles on it! Don’t forget to pat her back to wind her afterwards. If she gets fussy, place the soother in her mouth and lovingly rub her back and she will respond with content gurgles. Play a game of Bouncy Baby for happy sounds or tickle her tummy for sweet baby giggles.

When it’s nap time rock her to sleep and she will fall asleep in your arms. While she sleeps, watch her tummy rise and fall – she really breathes! If you gently place your hand over her tummy to feel her breathing and listen for her heartbeat!

Luvabella Newborn is perfect for younger children as she doesn’t have as many features as her big sister, but she is still lots of fun to play with and we love that she imitates breathing as well as having realistic facial movements. She comes in two colours, blonde or dark brown hair, and has an RRP of £49.99.
