Project 365 2022 – Week 4

So this week COVID restrictions have eased, but with the number of cases rocketing in the kids schools, I am keeping my mask on.

After almost two years, we have a positive case in the family, with Isaac testing positive on Wednesday. Thankfully he has brushed it off in a couple of days and all he had was a temperature, headache and a sore throat.

Here is our week:

Sunday 23rd January

We picked the kids up from Scout Camp at lunchtime and it was very clear that Isaac didn’t get much sleep as he was sleeping outside in the cold. He came in, had a warm shower and promptly slept for a couple of hours.

Thankfully he recharged enough to try out our new PS4 move controller, which we picked up in CEX to play with our old Playstation VR headset.

Monday 24th January

Eliza is 11!!

Her presents remained ignored after the excitement of finding an official invite to join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Letter from Hogwarts (1)

It was a fairly quiet birthday, but we managed to squeeze in a visit to Toby Carvery for Eliza’s favourite roast dinner, after her scouts and session and of course a chocolate birthday cake.

Tuesday 25th January

A work day for me and the only photo I took was one of a donation to a school, so they could make fruit kebabs.

Wednesday 26th January

Isaac woke up with a temperature and a headache, so I phoned school to say he wouldn’t be in. They phoned back almost immediately to ask him to do a PCR, even though he had a negative lateral flow test.

I made him his favourite spicy chicken for dinner and it complained that it wasn’t spicy, which convinced it was probably COVID and just a waiting game for his results.

Thursday 27th January

We woke up to confirmation that Isaac tested positive for COVID.

Thankfully, Isaac has got it very mildly and his only remaining symptom is a slight headache and a scratchy throat.

Friday 28th January

I did an LFT and went to work as normal, but after a couple of hours I felt like I had a bit of a temperature and developed a cough, so arranged a PCR test and came home again.

The kids got some exciting post – some Doddle Jamz to play with.

Saturday 29th January

Thankfully feeling much better today and my PCR came back negative.

Eliza got the last part of her birthday present – an Indian Flower Mantis.

It is really tiny at the moment, so you can barely see it, but she has called it Orchid.

  1. Ugh! So sorry Covid has entered your house. Everyone who seems to have avoided it for 2 years seems to be catching it now. It seems so unfair. Happy birthday to Eliza! I love her Hogwarts letter. How cool and her Indian Flower Mantis sounds interesting x

  2. Happy birthday to Eliza. It’s great that Isaac only had mild symptoms. Also, it’s great you didn’t catch it too. Indian Flower Mantis is quiet an unusual pet.

  3. Happy belated birthday to Eliza and how exciting to receive an official letter from Hogwarts! So sorry to hear that Covid has hit your house. Glad that you tested negative though. Hope that Isaac is feeling better now and that the rest of the family has managed to avoid getting it. #project365

  4. Oh no! I am sorry you have both got it, although good to hear Issac is not bad with it, hope the same can be said for you? Happy Birthday to Eliza and what a cool present both on the Harry Potter front and Orchid.
