Project 365 2022 – Week 19

The sunny weather has finally arrived, so we have tried to make the most of it as much as possible.

There has been some stress in our house this week as Eliza has been sitting her SATs. Thankfully they are all over now and now the plans can start for their leavers party.

Here is our week:

Sunday 8th May

The weather was glorious and I finally managed to get the kids outside for a walk. It wasn’t a particularly fast walk because they insisted on bringing their cuddly toys and photographing them in various poses and locations so they could make up a story.

The story isn’t finished yet, but it is a work in progress. We also stopped for a cheeky ice cream.

Monday 9th May

SATs week for Eliza, so she went into school early for a special breakfast. Sebastian took up the mantle of chief hand-holder for Lilah.

I went over to see my Mum in Dorchester and we headed into Hotter to find her some new shoes for an upcoming wedding. Their service was impeccable as ever and I enjoyed trying their new foot measure machine. Turns out I have been wearing the wrong size shoes – I am only a 4.5, not a 5.5!!

Sadly, my Mum didn’t find any shoes, but she did treat me to a couple of pairs.

Tuesday 10th May

Day 2 of Eliza’s SATs and so far it’s just English, which is her favourite subject, so not too stressful.

After school was a bit of a rush as Isaac has restarted his bouldering course and then I had to take Eliza to her beach training session. Sadly the weather was not as good as it was the previous week and we sat on the beach watching wrapped up warm.

Wednesday 11th May

Day 3 of SATs and today the Maths tests start. Eliza said they were “meh”, so not sure how she got on.

I popped in to see a friend and her cat, which has only ever given me a look of distain, jumped onto my lap for a cuddle.

Thursday 12th May

I am pleased to say that Isaac’s volunteering is going well and today he spotted and identified a May Bug (Cockchafer Beetle) on the way to school.

Friday 13th May

It is Poole’s Race for Life this weekend, so we decorated the store in pink to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

I am not sure what Isaac and Sebby were up to, but I came into the room to find them in fits of giggles as Isaac tried to lift him up.

Saturday 14th May

Eliza and Sebby went to watch the Pretty Muddy Race at Poole Park whilst I worked. They have both decided they want to try it next year.

I got home just in time to watch the FA Cup Final. Sadly it was not the result we were hoping for and we lost on penalties to Liverpool. Thankfully, the Eurovision was a better result, with Sam Ryder leading the way all through voting, Sadly he was pipped at the post by Ukraine, who won the public vote, but 2nd place is more than respectable.

  1. I class our Eurovision as a win, because let’s face it, Ukraine was always going to win as the ‘right’ thing to do to support them. Their song was pretty awful. It was quite exciting to watch given how well Sam did. Glad SATs week is over – now time for them to relax a bit in this last run of the summer term!

  2. The weather has been a bit hit and miss here but we do seem to be having sunnier days.
Aww! That is so sweet about the kids taking their cuddly toys on a walk. That ice cream looks so good.
I am glad Eliza is done with her SATs. I hope she enjoys the rest of year 6 .

  3. I like the sound of their story walk with soft toys and any opportunity for an ice cream shouldn’t be missed. Glad to hear the SATs are over hope the ‘meh’ didn’t sound too good, hope it’s ok
