The countdown is on to half term in this house and despite the last one only being 5 weeks, we all need a break.
Sadly, we are not going away as it is just too expensive at the moment. We did price up a couple of options, but abroad was looking at £5000 just for flights and even short breaks in the UK were too much.
Here is our week:
Sunday 22nd May
A day of house work, followed by taking Eliza to synchro in the evening.
After I dropped her home, I met up with some other Mum’s to start the planning for their Year 6 Leaver’s party. Can’t believe she will be joining her brother in secondary school soon.
Monday 23rd May
I had a few hours to myself with the kids at school, so went for a short walk. It still surprises me that this is less than 2 minutes from my house.
After a couple of weeks break, I picked Lilah up from school and she was very happy when Eliza got home.
Tuesday 24th May
Our refit has really kicked in at work now and I walked in to a new Customer Service Desk and new fridges all along one wall. Frustratingly, it’s not all working yet, so we saw a few miffed customers.
Tuesday’s are always busy as Isaac has climbing and Eliza has surf lifesaving. It was a beautiful, clear evening at the beach – I wish I had taken my camera.
Once they had finished, Eliza insisted on going for a final swim, without her wetsuit. She is certainly braver than me!!
Wednesday 25th May
A work day for me at preschool and then home and almost straight into a 3 hour safeguarding course. A very long day and no photo’s either.
Thursday 26th May
Another work day, but I got to head out and visit the team at Poole Food Bank to plan an upcoming food collection.
On the way back to the car, I stopped to watch a huge dredger being directed into Poole Quay.
That was some serious sailing skills!
Friday 27th May
The last day of this half term and our first PFA event since before the pandemic. We arranged an afternoon tea jubilee celebration for the kids and it was a massive success, although I completely forgot to get any pictures.
My only photo was Isaac on a big box – I have no idea what he was doing, learning to fly maybe?
Saturday 28th May
I am on holiday with the kids. Sadly, we are not going away as it is too expensive, so hoping to squeeze in some fun days out.
It is very rare that Isaac doesn’t wear vlack, but today he and Sebby both came down in matching t-shirts……..I had to get a picture!!
How was your week?
Holidays are so expensive at the moment. We had a look at some and they were way out of our price range.
What a gorgoeus place for a walk.
Oh wow! Eliza is brave swimming in the sea.
I hope you have a great half term. x
We’re not going away either, trying to sort out some playdates, and days out inbetween appointments that weren’t very well planned! Brr, swimming in the sea. I need to get N in the pool this week as he’s not swum properly for months.
I can’t believe the prices of flights at the moment, it’s madness. Hope the sea was warmer than it looked, you wouldn’t catch me going for a dip anytime soon. How lovely to have such a beautiful work so close to where you live
How lovely to have such a beautiful spot for a walk so near home. Love the photo of Eliza swimming in the sea and the one of Isaac on the big box made me smile. Love the photo of him and Sebby in matching T-shirts too. #project365
I love making the most of our local area. The kids look like they have such fun in the sea, on a box, together. Hope prices decrease for everything soon! #project365
