Project 365 2022 – Week 34

I cannot believe we are heading into the last week of the summer holiday’s, it has dragged in places but now feels like we need to cram a few more activities in.

We have had a couple of days out this week and my husband is now on holiday for a week, so fingers crossed we will find something else to do this week. It’s Bournemouth Air Festival next weekend, which is always fun.

Here is our week:

Monday 22nd August

Eliza and Sebby are taking part in the summer reading challenge, so we visited the library to swap over their books.

It was Lilah’s first time in the library and she loved looking at all the books. She would have probably stayed in there all day if we had let her!

Tuesday 23rd August

Eliza had her final orthodontist appointment today, where they took x-ray’s and photo’s of her teeth.

These braces corrected an under-bite, but she may need more in the future, once she finishes losing all her baby teeth.

Wednesday 24th August

Getting the kids out the house is getting tougher as they get older, especially Isaac who would quite happily sit on his games console 24/7.

We managed to get them out the house to visit the Walled Garden of Moreton.

I had promised a special surprise and they were not convinced as we walked up the road. Thankfully, they were happy once we reached the ford and they realised they could go in the water and play.

We struggled to get them out to go home, so I would say our day out was a success.

Thursday 25th August

A work day for me. Isaac had an appointment in the evening and it was set in an old, restored mill in Wimborne.

Friday 26th August

Another work day for me. Our only photo is of the kitchen door – we have had some escaped crickets from when we used to feed the praying mantis and one sounded like it was in the door.

Turns out there is no base on the doors, so the little sausage had managed to climb inside!!

Saturday 27th August

Bank holiday weekend in a supermarket isn’t much fun – was run off my feet all day!

My only picture was our vacancy board, which I posted on our facebook page. Wish my reach on my blog pages was as good – this got over 10,000 in 24 hours!

Sunday 28th August

We didn’t manage to get Isaac out of the house for today’s walk around Tyneham and Worbarrow Bay.

The fascinating thing about Tyneham village, is that it was evacuated in December1943 during WWII and has been deserted ever since.

We last visited in 2018, where the kids could explore and climb in the old houses, but we were disappointed to find that they have now been fenced off.

Thankfully the beach soon cheered them up as we did a spot of fossil hunting and had a swim.

  1. Looks like a great week. The ford pictures are great. I wish we had one that was playable in near us – ours are all across roads, so not really very good for playing as there’s too much traffic. I’d love to visit Tyneham. We’ve never managed to see it, as it was never open when we were down that way on holiday. Maybe one day I’ll get there, I reckon N might find it quite interesting

  2. These summer holidays have flown over!! I can’t believe my youngest is back at school next week.
I miss my two taking part in the summer reading challenge. It looks like Lilah had a fab time at the library.
It looks like the kids had a great time playing in the water! x

  3. Sounds like a fun week for the kids, the bonus water play in the ford and swimming in the sea sounds lovely. Glad to hear visits to the dentists are over for a while and the bite has been corrected

  4. How lovely that Lilah enjoyed her first trip to the library. Love the photos of the kids playing in the ford, they look like they were having a wonderful time. Love the photos from Tyneham village too – I’ve just finished a book about Tyneham. We visited Imber a couple of years ago which has a similar story. So sad to think that people were forced to leave and never did get to return though. #project365
