Project 365 2022 – Week 42

The final few days until a week off work and school and it is really starting to feel Autumnal now.

I had my COVID and flu jab on Sunday and felt rough for a couple of days , but thankfully it wore off quickly.

Here is our week:

Sunday 16th October

After the excitement of yesterday, it was back to earth with a bump, as I was booked in for my 4th COVID booster.

The kids insisted on coming with me and as I had a text offering me a free Flu jab too, I made the decision to get it all over and done with at the same time. They were all fascinated by the process and hopefully won’t be nervous when it comes to their turn.

Afterwards we wandered around the shops to try and get an idea of what they want for Christmas. Top of the list for my Pokemon fans was this cuddly Gengar from Build a Bear.

Monday 17th October

A short work day for me as its the day I pick Lilah up from pre-school – she was absolutely covered in paint from painting pumpkins!!

Picking kids up looking mucky, is always the sign of a good day!!

Tuesday 18th October

Another day with Lilah and today we spent some time reviewing some toys we got at BlogOn last weekend.

Dantoy-Food-Set

Wednesday 19th October

The charity that won the £10,000 Community Grant last week was Prama and today I got to donate them a raffle prize too.

They are going to spend the money providing hot meals for the elderly and their carers and a warm space this winter, across Bournemouth and Poole.

Thursday 20th October

After a two year absence, thanks to COVID, the school disco is back!!

Although she is at secondary school now, Eliza really wanted to come, so she and her friend were put in charge of glitter tattoos.

Friday 21st October

Inset day for Eliza and Isaac, but sadly Sebby had school and I had work.

In the late afternoon, Isaac was back at his old swimming school for a work trial as a swimming assistant and I am pleased to say that he got the job.

Saturday 22nd October

We are all now on holiday for the week.

We always used to go away in October half term, but sadly with the cost of living spiralling out of control we can’t afford it this year. I was hoping for a week of days out, but the kids are at an age where they all have their own plans for the week, so it will probably be a week of catching up on household chores.

My only photo on this stormy day was the glimpse of a rainbow.

How was your week?

  1. What a brilliant week! I miss Blogon. Did I hear right that this year was the last of it? I stopped going because I couldn’t justify the cost of going. Hotel stay, train fare, and the cost of the event, no. Well maybe if I had little ones I would still go, but I don’t. I know the feeling when everyone has their own half-term plans. Such a pity with the cost of living now you can’t have a family trip away or even a few days out! I enjoyed reading about your week. Happy Autumn.

  2. Well done Isaac on the swimming assistant. I keep telling N to keep up with his tennis because he’ll have the opportunity to help out in a couple of years probably.. That foot toy set looked so good when I saw it at blogon. Looked like a really nice range. Enjoy your time off – N’s the same. Not very enthusiastic about ideas for what he might want to do on days out, although we have plans to go ice skating one day.

  3. I can’t decide whether I like that Pokemon Build a Bear. It looks rather scary but cute at the same time.
It is so good that you get to help so many charities with the grants.
I hope you have a great half term. x

  4. We managed a couple of discos last year but they weren’t as well attended so hopefully everything will be back to normal after covid. Hope you are enjoying half term (seems to be racing by!) #project365

  5. Fab news with the charity grants. Lilah looks like she had loads of fun with her pumpkin painting, hope it all washed out nicely. Hope you’re feeling better after the flu and covid vaccine.

  6. Love the photo of Lilah covered in paint – definitely a sign of a good day! Lovely to have the school disco back again. Sounds like Eliza and her friend had fun. Well done to Isaac on getting the swimming assistant job. Hope you had a nice half-term. #project365
