Project 365 2022 – Week 43

Half Term!

Finally a week off work / school.

It has been an uneventful week at home, although in the political world we have another new Prime Minister – Rishi Sunak, who they probably should have elected in the first place, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Here is our week:

Sunday 23rd October

It is safe to say that the weather was stormy today, we started the day with a thunderstorm so made the most of a day indoors and started our World Cup sticker book.

My husband and I saw a break in the weather and walked to the shop to get some supplies, when the second storm of the day started rolling in.

I have to say it is one of the most impressive storms I have witnessed in this country and the sky was lit up with lightening for almost an hour. Just wish it had happened in darkness for better photo’s.

Lightening

Monday 24th October

A day we have been waiting for, for a long time. We finally have permission to trim the overhanging branches over our garden.

Unfortunately, they weren’t allowed to reduce the height of the tree, but its a start and we have so much more light now.

As it is half term, we had Lilah all day, so took advantage and worked on some toy review that we have been sent.

Tuesday 25th October

We headed into Poole today and finally managed to take a picture of the new rope sculpture which has been erected in Hunger Hill, to celebrate the maritime and ship building history of Poole.

In the evening, Eliza helped Dad build her new vivarium, as we have finally succumb to her requests for a pet.

Wednesday 26th October

We were lucky enough to be invited to review a spa break at the hotel where we got married, so enjoyed a child-free day / night away from the kids.

As well as enjoying a facial and the spa facilities, we were also treated to afternoon tea, which was delicious.

Thursday 27th October

It was back to earth with a bump, but only after a delicious breakfast.

Friday 28th October

We actually managed to drag the kids out of the house, to the Sea Life Centre in Weymouth.

We visit there fairly regularly, but they have a new behind the scenes tour which I knew the kids would like, as they are interested in conservation.

It was a really interesting visit, with lots of age appropriate information. We got to understand how they maintain their water systems, saw their nurseries and even baby sharks moving in their mermaid purse sacs, hundreds of baby seahorses and some baby rays and sharks.

Saturday 29th October

It was a very early start for me as I had to drop Sebby at the local coach station, as he is heading to London with cubs to sleep on HMS Belfast.

It was then on to Yeovil to collect Eliza’s bearded dragon…………. introducing Willow.

Her Dad and I wanted to call her Dracarys, but Eliza was having none of it!

  1. We had a bit of rain and lightning, but in the evening. The spa break – and food looked good. Hope Sebby enjoyed HMS Belfast. It’s great to visit – I’m not sure I’d want to sleep on it though

  2. That does look like an impressive storm – love the lightning photo. Glad you were able to trim the branches from the overhanging tree and that it’s given you more light as a result. That bubble scooter looks like a lot of fun. The spa break looks amazing. Looks like you had a fun day out at the SeaLife Centre. Hope Willow is settling in well. #project365
