Back to school and work this week, after a week off.
Thankfully the kids got back into a routine nice and quickly, so it wasn’t too painful.
Here is our week:
Sunday 30th October
Sebby returned from his Kip on the Ship, a cub camp sleeping aboard HMS Belfast, absolutely shattered.

Apparently they got about two hours sleep, but it was the leaders I felt most sorry for. Hopefully they managed to catch up that evening.

Willow is settling in well and today we got her out for a cuddle. Eliza is really at ease with her, as she has experience of helping to look after a bearded dragon, but the rest of us are a little more wary.

Monday 31st October
Back to work and school after a week off and the first day is always a challenge, but we managed to feed Willow and get to school on time.

Isaac started his new job officially today and is working with his old swim school as a swimming assistant. He spent the first part of the session, blowing up inflatable halloween toys.

Whilst Isaac was at work, Eliza and Sebby headed out trick or treating, with Eliza dressed as eleven and Sebby refusing to wear his Mandolorian costume I bought him, instead just dressing in black with a mask on.

Our neighbourhood normally goes to town on decorations, but the kids had a disappointing turn out this year, maybe because the weather was so bad.
Tuesday 1st November
The weather has been a bit up and down, but when I arrived home from work, there was a beautiful heart shaped cloud in the sky that was backlit by the sun.

Willow has definitely settled in now and likes to sit on Eliza’s shoulder and watch what is going on.

Wednesday 2nd November
We were treated to a beautiful rainbow as we headed to school in the morning.

And another one in the afternoon.

Thursday 3rd November
You know Christmas is coming when the charity toy collections begin.

The weather has been horrendous, with torrential rain and thunder, typically worse at school pick up times, but it finally cleared and I was treated to this gorgeous night sky when I picked Sebby up from cubs.

Friday 4th November
A day I have been looking forward to for a while. As you know, Isaac volunteers as a Young Conservationist on Brownsea Island and today I got to go and present them with a Community Grant cheque for £1000.

I spent a couple of hours volunteering with their adult group, where I helped pull up some bracken to help the heathland re-establish itself.

I have to admit that I really miss getting outside in the great outdoors, so need to make a bit more effort.
Saturday 5th November
Remember remember the fifth of November!!

When I was young, bonfire night was always freezing, now they seem to be wet and mild.

We braved the rain for our local scouts display and we disappointed as it is normally packed full of fireworks. This year it felt really spaced out, but it might have been because it was so wet and everything didn’t want to lights because of the rain.
How was your week?
I love fireworks too. Our local one was quite small but dry as it was last week. We watched another one from the windows this weekend. Hope Isaac’s new job went well
Eliza does look so comfotable and happy handling Willow. I don’t think I could. Eek!
Congrats to Isaac on his new job.
The rainbows are so pretty.
We never bothered going to our local firework display as it was so wet and cold. x
I love fireworks too, not seen a display for a few years now though. That sure looks like one tired young man after his trip, hope he caught up with his sleep. Lovely photos of the rainbows
Eliza looks very relaxed and happy with Willow and I love the photo of Lilah holding her too. The weather was disappointing for Halloween and Bonfire Night wasn’t it? Shame that the fireworks weren’t so good this year. #project365
Love the fireworks pic, mine are never very successful with neither my camera nor my phone 🙁 Very jealous of your bearded dragon #project365
