Retail at Christmas is always one of the busiest time of the year and despite the cost of living crisis, this year seemed busier than ever.
Both my husband and I worked most of the week, but luckily managed to fit our shifts around the kids.
Here is our week:
Sunday 18th December
We had our works Christmas children’s party and Isaac and Eliza came along as helpers, making demo biscuit snowmen and encouraging some of the kids to join in.
Despite being thrown together quickly due to us all being ill, it was a roaring success and the kids all had a great time.
Monday 19th December
My last day off before Christmas and we made the most of it with a trip to Littlehampton to see Callan.
The highlight of a visit to see Callan is always the arcades and they were surprisingly quiet. The kids came away with a small haul of prizes, so they were more than happy.
Tuesday 20th December
I love working Christmas week as it is busy, but despite the queues, most people are more cheerful.
My role for the week was as the Greeter, so spent the day helping customers finding products and handing out free carrots to the kids, to leave out for the reindeer.
Wednesday 21st December
Another day at work for me. Kian arrived home from university and Abbey popped in with Lilah as they are away visiting other family for Christmas.
Thursday 22nd December
Things are definitely ramping up at work and it was extremely busy all day.
My only photo was of the Rotary train which visited us and played shoppers in with festive music.
Friday 23rd December
Definitely the busiest day of the run up to Christmas and most of my day was spent handing out chocolates to shoppers in the queues.
I came home with a box of Matchmakers for Willow winning our festive pet competition, with my picture of her asleep on our gonk.
Saturday 24th December
A long day at work for me and it was steady all day.
Thankfully the kids waited for me to watch the Polar Express, which is our Christmas eve tradition.
How was your run up to Christmas?
Looks like you had a fun visit to see Callan – my children love a trip to the arcades too. I’ve worked in retail in the run-up to Christmas and it is a very hectic time but nice when people are more cheerful because of the festive season. Hope you had a good Christmas. #project365
Glad you got to see all the family across the week. Sounds like work was fun despite it being busy. We’ve never actually watches the Plmar Express. I’ve seen the start but not got much further.
I’ve never seen Polar Express! Love the free carrots for Rudolph. I’ve seen the melting snowman biscuits before but never attempted them . #project365
Lovely to catch up with Callum and I thought the TE=esco carrot for the reindeer was a lovely touch
