The weather suddenly seems to be getting better, with warm sunny skies. We did get a few rumbles of thunder on Friday though.
The kids are gearing up for exams and the house is full of revision flash cards, but thankfully its not an important exam year, so not to stressful.
Here is our week:
Sunday 14th May
A much needed day off for me and a glorious day, so I dragged the kids out for a walk.
They have built a massive housing estate on farmland that used to be next to our existing estate, so to compensate they turned the farmland by the river into a Sang. Thanks to more houses going up, this has now been extended, so it is double the size.
Eliza and Sebby enjoyed trying the new exercise equipment which is dotted around the extension and we managed an impressive 4 mile walk from our house, around it and back home again.
I would like to see them put in some more play equipment, as one swing and a small climbing frame isn’t enough.
Monday 15th May
My new job requires me to start at 5.30am on a Monday, which was a bit of a shock to the system, although not as bad as I thought it would be.
My only photo is of a donation I made to a school for their French Day.
Tuesday 16th May
Abbey is away in Amsterdam for hers and her friends 30th birthday and Lilah was a bit upset that Mummy wasn’t home, so we cheered her up with a visit to Tesco to buy some Smarties. The hand-scanner training has begun!
Wednesday 17th May
My day working at preschool was uneventful.
We have the river Stour within walking distance from our house, but these ducks have taken to a rather large puddle instead!
Thursday 18th May
A day off for me and the weather was glorious, so I headed out for another walk around the Sang, this time being stalked by a swan along the river.
I took a slightly different route back so I could find the second carpark, as I plan on visiting with a friend who is recovering from an illness and can’t walk long distances. I was surprised by how far the carpark is from the sang though.
Friday 19th May
A rare day off for both my husband and I, so we headed out to our favourite cafe for breakfast.
It was nice, but not quite as good as our previous visits. I am not sure if it because they are opening a new cafe, or have changed staff, but fingers crossed it is back to its best soon.
Saturday 20th May
I went to pick up my colleague to take her to work, when I noticed a mark on my car bonnet.
It looks like someone has taken a key to it and I am furious. I don’t know if it is one of the neighbours, thanks to the parking wars going on, or if its kids, as there is a gang of teenagers that cause trouble in the park behind us, but I am going to have to make an insurance claim as I lease my car, so it has to be returned in pristine condition. Unfortunately, our ring doorbell hasn’t caught any footage as the tree is in the way.
How was your week?
How frustrating about your car. Some people are just horrible. I had to look up what a SANG is. I’ve never heard that phrase before.
I am loving the warmer weather although today is grey again, it’s still warm though.
It’s good that they are compensating for the housing estate by making more green areas.
Eek! To the half five start, I am glad it went well and I am guessing starting that early you will finish earlier too.
Oh gosh! That does look like someone has deliberately made that scratch on your car. How annoying. x
Sorry to hear about the damage to the car, so frustrating and unnecessary. The park area looks a lovely place, shame there isn’t much in it. I love willow trees always remind me of my childhood home
Yikes a 5.30 start! I’m sometimes awake at that time but not ready to face the day… Sorry to hear about the damage to your car 🙁 #project365
The Sang looks like a beautiful spot for a walk. Ouch to starting work at 5.30am! So sorry to hear about your car. What a pity that your doorbell camera didn’t catch anything. #project365
