It feels like it has been an uneventful week, but we have changed a car, Isaac had a charity sleep out with school, Eliza went to a neon party and Sebby entered a competition, so not exactly quiet!
Here is our week:
Sunday 22nd September
I would like to say I had a nice relaxing day off, but spent the day running around after the kids. Isaac had work and Eliza was off to a birthday party, which meant we had to find a birthday present for the birthday girl.
Thankfully it was a fairly easy shop and I made the most of my two free drinks on the Costa app.
Monday 23rd September
Back to work and thankfully it wasn’t quite as early as the previous weeks.
I don’t do as much blogging these days, although the reviews have started trickling in again. I suffer with arthritis in my feet and can walk around 20,000 steps a day, so I was very excited about the chance to review a foot massager………HEAVEN!!!
We also had our first PTFA meeting with the new head teacher, so have lots of exciting plans for the coming school year.
Tuesday 24th September
Another work day for me and the kids have started rehearsals for Oliver, so I pick them up later from school.
One of our local days out venues have a competition to design a mascot for them and Sebby was very excited to design and enter his.
He spent a lot of time on it and really thought about his design, choosing the body to be the leap of faith bag and even giving him a safety harness. (It’s a climbing venue)
Wednesday 25th September
We have leased our family car for the last 5 years and it went back today. It was sad to see it go, although it has been having unresolved issues for the last couple of weeks, so the best thing for us.
We have now gone from 7 seats to 5, but with Isaac potentially learning to drive in April, we don’t really need the extra space anymore.
My husband opted for a Hyundai Tucson this time, having fallen in love with one we reviewed back in 2018 and I am jealous it’s an automatic as we have so many roadworks around us that my feet hurt after being stuck in school run traffic.
Thursday 26th September
A quiet day at work for me catching up on my community projects.
I love wildlife watching and noticed a distinct lack of butterflies this year, but they seem to have all come out in the last week, I hope the weather stays warm enough for them to survive a bit longer.
Friday 27th September
Isaac took part in the Big Sleep Easy for the local YMCA today, sleeping outside school in a cardboard box.
They have raised an amazing £1679 so far and you can donate here if you would like to sponsor him. What is even more impressive, is that he worked a swim teacher shift before hand and then went to work as a lifeguard the next day after just a couple of hours sleep,
Saturday 28th September
A busy day at work as it was payday weekend for a lot of people, but we still decided to go for a walk afterwards to see the Arts by the Sea event happening in Bournemouth.
I was really unimpressed if I am honest, there really wasn’t much to see at all and the Honeycombe installation was fenced off as they were installing fireworks around it, as they were moving the fireworks to Saturday as the weather wasn’t looking great for Sunday.
The last time we visited, the gardens were full of installations and performers, this time we found just three things to see. Maybe we just timed it wrong?!
How was your week?
That’s a shame about the art event. The bubbles type of thing looks really cool, but only 3 installations is a bit rubbish. Well done Isaac for his sleep out – that’s tough going.
Oh wow! That foot massager looks like heaven!
Well done to Sebby with the mascot design.
The new car looks fab and I noticed a lot more butterflys over the last couple of weeks too.
Isaac did really well sleeping outside.
The sleep out and fundraising is such a great idea. Oh dear to the lack of Arts by the Sea, but the bubble installation does look good. Hope hubby is enjoying the new car. I’ve not seen any UK butterflies this year, only noticed their absence when we were inundated with them over in Turkey in the summer.
Well done to Isaac, is wonderful of him to do that and raise money for charity. The new car looks lovely.
