October has arrived and Autumn is making itself felt, I have definitely noticed the nights drawing in and a chill in the air.
It has been a quiet and uneventful week for me, although my husband has had more fun with trips to Longleat and Gatwick with work.
Here is our week:
Sunday 29th September
The kids had a musical theatre workshop today, where they have started rehearsals for An Evening of Song at the end of November.
My only photo was of some new lights we have for the garden – they are really bright and I quite like the northern lights setting on them. Just need to fix the lazy spa now, as I think the local cat or squirrel population has made a puncture in it.
Monday 30th September
A busy work day for me and as it is the end of the month, it is a charity change over day.
Tuesday 1st October
I think I say this every month, but how is it October already? This year has really flown by.
My husband works for Pets at Home and they are allowed to take their pets in with them. This is his colleagues new puppy, Willow and apparently she loves my husband. It almost makes me want a puppy, until I heard that she managed to poo all over her owners kitchen as she ate something she shouldn’t!!
Sebby had his first detention for not doing all of his homework. I think secondary school is definitely more of a learning curve for him, but it was more of a teaching them how to use the app, rather than telling them off.
Wednesday 2nd October
I am stealing my husband’s photo’s again as I was stuck at home whilst he enjoyed a team build day at Longleat.
I love Longleat but it has been a couple of years since our last visit and they have now welcomed Koala bears to their safari park. I think I need a re-visit!
Sebby got another detention, this time for back chatting in class……..let’s hope this isn’t a recurring theme! He was most upset as apparently it was his classmate that was talking and not him, but he was the one that got caught.
Thursday 4th October
Another work day and I donated bacon, rolls and sauces to the kids school for a celebration breakfast for the class with the best attendance.
Apparently there is a national issue of kids not going to school on a Friday, so the school are trying to work with the kids to encourage weekly attendance.
Friday 5th October
Guess who’s class won the bacon butties………..Sebby’s class, so he was winding Eliza and Isaac up all the way home from school.
My only photo is of Sebby playing the Highland Spring game at Tesco.
Saturday 6th October
A work day for me, so Abbey took the kids to the local pumpkin farm, the Picking Patch.
They had lots of fun exploring the maze and all doing all the Halloween activities, with marshmallow toasting being a favourite. I am hoping to take them myself in a couple of week, I don’t want buy the pumpkins too early as they will go rotten.
After work I headed to my GP for my flu jab, only to find I had turned up a week early!! They did it anyway and my 7th COVID booster too, cannot believe I have had so many of them now!
How was your week?
The lights in your garden looks fab!
That is so cool that you can take your pets to work at Pets At Home!
Oops to Sebby’s detentions. I hope he has learned a lesson from them.
Your husband did seem to be having all the fun this week. The Koala bear is so cute.
The pumpkin patch looks like so much fun. What a great day out. x
Wow, that’s a lot of boosters. I really wish I was still in the group – last year’s was the first I wasn’t in the group anymore, and now I’ve have Covid. So that’s a bummer.
Aw, that puppy is so cute. This is why I like having outdoor/kennel dogs. No cleaning up in the house!
We’ve never been to Longleat. I’d like to go, but it’s over 2 hours, so would probably need to do a weekend stay nearby
Love the lights in the garden. What a gorgeous puppy Willow is. Sorry to hear that Sebby had his first detentions. Lovely photos from the team building session at Longleat. Well done to Sebby’s class on winning the bacon butties. #project365
The garden lights look fab, love a visit to a zoo/wildlife park.
